Start with the right class
Your next licence depends on what you already hold.
Queensland has minimum licence-holding periods for each heavy vehicle upgrade. Your current class, how long you have held it and the vehicle you want to operate determine the appropriate next step.

- Class C held for at least 1 year can lead to LR or MR
- Class C held for at least 2 years can lead to HR
- LR or MR held for at least 1 year can lead to HR
- MR or HR held for at least 1 year can lead to HC
- HR or HC held for at least 1 year can lead to MC
